It has been a really hard couple of weeks. I have felt such a wide range of emotions. I have felt sorrow such as I have never experienced before. I have always been kind of a fraidy cat but now I have known what it really means to be scared. I have felt completely inadequate and at a loss for words. I have felt helpless. But, I have also felt a new appreciation for what I have. I have felt the love of so many people, many of whom I had never met before. I have experienced selfless service and been able to give a little myself. I have never been more grateful for the gospel in all of my life. I have gained knowledge and a new perspective on so many things. But, mostly, I have felt such inexpressible love for my husband and son.
My husband has had to face what no one should have to face. I know that my sorrow must only be a fraction of what he has experienced. He has carried such a burden and had to deal with so much of the "business" of losing a loved one. And yet, through it all, he has been so strong. He has leaned on the gospel instead of pulling away from it. He has depended on faith when he couldn't find the answer to some of his many questions. He has been a strength and a comfort to me. I only pray I was the same for him. He truly is my hero and I am thankful everyday for him and all that he is.
My son. How can I possibly express what he has meant to me these last few weeks specifically. I have gained so much strength from such a little person. He is the most affectionate child I have ever met. He is so generous with his love, not just to me, but to everyone. He won over family that he met for the 1st time this week in about 1 second flat. He has wiped away more than a few of my tears and replaced them with a sweet kiss. He lights up a room and brings a unique spirit just by being there. I know that Heavenly Father sent him to us first for this purpose. He knew we would need Noah at this time.
It will forever be my greatest honor in life that I am Chris's wife and Noah's mother.

Yay for Immodesty!
I had my doctors appt. today and was able to sweet talk my doc into another ultrasound. The kiddo was the right direction and had no inhibitions so he was able to get a good looksy this time. EDEN IT IS!!!! We are really excited to be having a girl. With all the awesome hand-me-downs that she will inevitably get from my adorable nieces, this chick is gonna be unstoppable!

Not What He Had In Mind
Chris has finally gotten his office to a point that he is happy with it. He has a total of 3, count um, 3! computers set up. His work out equipment is placed precisely where he wants it. He was able to get his dream TV complete with surround sound. He literally measured out where the speakers should go to achieve optimal sound enjoyment. He takes great pride in this room and has lovingly dubbed it "The Man Room". Whatever. Well, I don't think this is what he had in mind.

"Those" Moments
My cup runneth over big time. Today my hubby stopped mid stride, doubled back, and planted a simple kiss on me. Sigh. Today my son toddled over to me, extended his arms and pumped his chubby little fingers to let me know he wanted me to pick him up. My reward was both arms wrapped tightly around my neck and a slobbery, snotty kiss planted firmly on my lips. Sigh. Yep, my cup is definitely a fountain.

To Make or To Buy
So, I started contemplating what Noah is going to be for Halloween this year and I am coming up blank. Last year I knew for the longest that he was going to be Harry Potter and, let me tell ya, he was cuter than the real thing.

It was a really simple costume to put together so I didn't spend a lot of time and effort on it. But, like I said, this year I got nada! Chris suggested a pumpkin but, while his chubby cheeks scream "pumpkin!", I want to do something that is going to be a little bit different. Ya know?
I went online today to get some ideas. I found a few but I'm not married to any of them yet. The one I am leaning towards the most it this one (the dragon):
But, I also liked this one:
What do you think? Do you know any good sites for ideas and how-to's for homemade costumes? Maybe I should just buy one. What to do, what to do?!

Darn Kid!
And no, I'm not talking about Noah, this time (grin!). I am talking about Peanut (aka. baby #2). We went in on Monday for the much anticipated ultrasound and, wouldn't you know it, the kid was breech and kept it's knees together the whole time. My doc, bless him, tried everything to get a peek but no such luck. At one point, Peanut lifted a leg very briefly but that was it. Doc said that if I put a gun to his head he would say "girl", just because he didn't catch a glimpse of anything in that split second of a leg lift. But, he said not to paint the room pink. Urg!! My next appointment is on the 22nd of next month. He said if there was time he would try to take a look again. Luckily, I have Natalie there and and she said that if he couldn't do it, she would sneak me in and take a gander. Score!
On the up side, everything looked great health wise for Peanut. "She" (hopeful thinking) was face forward almost the whole time and kept opening and closing her mouth. We had some concerns over the heartbeat early on but the heart looked and sounded great so that is a load off. So, I guess I shouldn't complain. Here's hoping for a less modest kid next month!
