Warm Weather...Almost

I saw on the news that the Botanical Gardens was having a free day on Tuesday. I checked out the weather and it was supposed to be in the lower 60's. So, I hurriedly sent out an email to all the gals in the fam to try to set up a picnic. I also called 2 good friends of mine to see if they wanted to pack up their little ones and come along. I told everyone to invite anyone they could think of so we had 2 more friends come as well.

We all met at the BG at 12:00. None of us had been there in many moons so we had no idea where to go. We went into the Visitor's Center and they hooked us up with a map. I spotted a picnic area on the map so we set out. We found some picnic tables inside of the Children's Garden. Perfect. We set up camp and ate grub. The simplest food taste 10 times better when eaten on a picnic with good friends. Then, we went exploring. The kids had a great time. All of them were under the age of 2 except for E, one of the little girls my sister nannies. And 4 of the 8 kids are just learning how to walk so it was funny watching all of these kids literally toddling.

The only drawback to the day was the crazy cold wind. It was pure heaven when the wind wasn't blowing but when it was it was like 30 below. But, we all still had a blast. Some of the girls said that the BG does a free day every month so we may make this a monthly thing.

p.s The pic of the dinosaur is because M, the oldest of Misty's girls, and her class made this dinosaur for the new dinosaur exhibit that the BG is doing.

I had no idea the BG offered a free day. Thanks for the info!

Congrats on all your walking and water drinking! I'm excited to hear how you do over the weekend. Those two days are my downfall.

It was fun! The next free day is Tuesday, April 8th! Hopefully it will be a little warmer and less windy. :)
