In August, Noah had his first official dental appointment. Noah likes to keep me on my toes so I never know how he is going to react to things. I was pretty sure he was going to be fine since he is a great teeth brusher. Plus, his dentist is his Uncle Shawn so that helps too.

I was right. He was a total trooper and did everything he was asked to do.

iPhone

This is a repeat for my Facebook friends so bare with me.


A few months ago Chris surprised me with an iPhone. I had been debating on whether or not I wanted one because I thought it would be complicated and I knew Chris would hound me about being careful with it. But, now that I have one there is no going back.

Noah has become just as in love with it as I am. Of course the fact that I have plenty of cartoons and games on it to keep him entertained helps.

I had the idea of using one of the pictures of the iPhone and making Noah his own 'phone'. So I taped the picture up with a few layers of cardboard and viola! His very own iPhone.






Chris gave him an old case so he is set.






He takes his phone very seriously. He is constantly 'calling' his dad to remind him of this or that. He has quite the collection of pictures. And, he continually reminds his little sister to 'be cawrful' with his phone, his eyes rolling with annoyance at having to tell her yet again.

A few days after I made this for him we went to the doctor. He marched in like he owned the place, iPhone securely settled in it's case at his waist. He would whip the phone out anytime he got someones attention and proceed to give them a rundown of all it's functions. When the doctor came in she was taken aback when he quickly showed it to her. She thought it was a real phone. We laughed and she admitted to thinking I was INSANE for getting a 3 year old an iPhone.

He is most definitely his father's son. Okay, okay! With maybe a little of his mother thrown in there too

One Down

For the past several weeks I have been working on making backpacks for the kids. These suckers are labor intensive, let me tell ya. But, I think the resulting cuteness is worth it. So far I have finished Noah's.






The pattern I used didn't have a side pocket for a sippy cup so I winged it and came up with my own. I was seriously shocked that it came out as well as it did.



The only thing I have left to do is the lining. Noah L.O.V.E.S. his backpack, which makes all of the hours I put into it worth it.

I'm Back...mostly

It has been a heck of a summer here at the Hozian house. Pinkeye several times, a wicked strain of strep, ear infections, sinus infections....you get the picture. Eden and I are still trying to fight off some sinus issues. I will be glad when we are all healthy again.

Chris has become obsessed with Powerwheels. You know, the little 'cars' that kids drive? We currently have 17. Yep, that's right. 17. They were mostly in my dining room and kitchen until I had a blowup one day. Chris then promptly wrapped them in tarps and put them in the backyard. Some are for parts. Most are for fun. Chris has a blast fixing them up and the kiddos LOVE to ride them. Win/win.

I actually love this hobby for Chris (now that they are out of my way!) because it is something the whole family enjoys. Noah will have his play toolbelt and plastic tools all strapped on and ready to help with any repairs. He doesn't care about the cosmetics of the ride, he just wants to know if it will go 'whilly, whilly fast'. It is amazing to me how well Eden does on them. Her favorite is her 4 wheeler. It goes the perfect speed for her and she can go around our entire neighborhood just truckin along. We can be found most nights out for a walk/ride.

Now, if only I could convince Chris that the manufactors of the Powerwheels did not intend for grown men to ride them.

Okay, so I have heard from many of you, on and off the blog, that we all need just a wee bit more time to put some finishing touches on our $5 projects.

So, we will push it off until Monday.

Can't wait to show you guys what I have been doing.

Anyone Else Need One More Day?

When I set this up for today I forgot that I would be watching 2 of my nieces today as well.

We've gotten to spend a lot of time with Taylor and Bella this week.

I think the kids were feeling it because they all were getting on each others nerves a bit easier than normal.

I counted it as a good sign that Tater didn't want to go with her dad when it was time to leave.

That is, until she realized she could probably sweet talk him into fixing her some mac n' chez for dinner.

Trumped by mac n' chez.

Pathetic.

Anyway, all that to say that I didn't get pictures taken of any of my projects.

So, keeping to the 'pathetic' vein, I will have to postpone until tomorrow.

But, PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE come back tomorrow to link up.

Are You Up For a Little Challenge?

I have been stressed lately.

Just everyday-life-with-2-kiddos-and-a-hubby kinda stress.

But stress nonetheless.

Crafting is my stress relief.

I decided a few weeks ago that I need more time to spend on

MY NEEDS.

I know, scandalous for a mom to admit, right?

So I determined that the time between when the kids go to bed and when I go to bed is

all for me.

Too bad if the dinner dishes just didn't get done.

Too bad if there is laundry to be folded, or floors to mop, or shopping lists to be made..........

I just need my ME TIME.

But, I have kinda hit a creative wall.

I have the problem of there being so much that I want to do that I don't know where to start.

I like challenges/goals.

They help to give me focus.

So I thought I would issue a challenge to any who wanted to join me.

What can you create for $5?

Redo a piece of furniture?

Create/spruce up an article of clothing for yourself or a loved one?

Fill a long empty flower pot?

Add a touch of art to a barren wall?

Make a thoughtful gift for a friend in need?

Organize you sad junk drawer?
